On October 7, 1918, Edward Schmuhl was born in Hillside, New Jersey.
He was married to Mary Lillian Brylowska on August 31, 1941 in Newark, New Jersey.
He joined the Navy in 1942 and sailed the Pacific with Admiral Halsey.  He was a plank owner (original crew) on the U.S.S. Wasp CV 18.  He spent all of WWII in the Pacific.  He was discharged from the Navy in 1945.
Ed and Lil had five children, and he is survived by Lillian, his son Laurence, daughters Lynne, Diane and Susan, as well as twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
On May 27, 2005 he passed in his sleep.  He was surrounded by family and will be greatly missed.  It is said that if you enter the world crying while all around you are smiling and leave smiling while all around you are crying, you've lived a good life.  Sounds about right.
Lift up your loving cup to his long life.  Here's to you, grampa!

Born June 5, 1920 in Newark, New Jersey, Mary Lillian Brylowski was one of five children.  She met and married Edward Schmuhl  and they together raised five children.  She passed on May 4, 2007 and will be greatly missed.  We will especially miss the Entemann's cakes, M&Ms in film containers and apple struessel (even though I have the recipe, its just not the same).
